Include a workspace tab that enables you to preview your changes comparing it with the original, add an information pane that includes color histograms and other useful information about the image

Such as exposure values and the image size, DPI, color representation (e.g. YCbCR) and the type of compression , file size, when created and when edited.

Add more sophisticated editing tools such as cloning tools, various brush sizes and masking tools

These would be very useful when deciding on what parts of an image needs finer adjustment, for example you may want to keep some shadows unchanged when increasing the brightness, but still want to get rid of other shadows or at least lighten them....

Include a collection of frames in the border tab.

There are hundreds of frame types that can enhance a photo and would complement the border tab.

What a refreshingly intuitive GUI. '... You mean I don't need to study for hours just to be able to use the software?' Thank you for such a 'no tech required' package - Because I really just want to use it, not marry it.

Include seperate slider controls for correcting lighting in shadows, light areas or both combined rather than having just a brigtness slider

This will give you more control over adjusting over or under exposed images and also will enable you to enhance either light areas or shadows depending upon what you want to bring out in the image.

Include a publishing tab that includes all of the major upload sites such as Image Shack, Photobucket and Picasa Web Album (which has recently announced unlimited storage for it's users) as well as social sites like Facebook

A publishing tab would enable you to quickly upload your images to your favorite sites rather than having to faff around. Include your log on details so that it is automatically done once you've decided where you want it uploaded to, or...

The GUI is a little messy, create tabbed interfaces for the firmatting and tasks rather than have them all on the same window.

Update the interface to bring it in line with modern looks such as Win 7 or at least Vista looks. the interface looks dated/too simplistic

have a pdf conversion utility that converts without leaving a bunch of whitespace below the image. I was very excited to see that you were offering the pdf conversion but was disappointed with the result..
